Citiscapes, LLC
Artificial turf is one of the most practical upgrades a Phoenix homeowner can make. No water bills, no mowing, and it stays green through the hottest Arizona summers. The key is installation — done right, it looks and feels like real grass. Done wrong, it looks like a putting green in a parking lot.
How artificial turf is installed in Arizona: The process starts with excavation — typically 3 to 4 inches — and removal of existing material. A compacted decomposed granite or road base is installed to create a stable, draining foundation. A weed barrier goes down next, followed by the turf itself — cut, seamed, and secured at the edges. Infill material (silica sand or crumb rubber) is then spread across the surface and brushed in to support the fibers and give the turf a natural, upright look. Final grooming and an edge inspection close out the job.
Citiscapes installs artificial turf for front yards, backyard lawns, putting greens, dog runs, and play areas across Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley. We use commercial-grade turf products built specifically for Arizona's climate — UV-stabilized fibers, adequate drainage rates, and infill systems appropriate for the application and the heat.
The quality difference in artificial turf installations comes down to two things: the product and the base. Cheap turf on a poorly prepared base will wrinkle, drain slowly, and break down within a few seasons. Quality turf on a properly compacted, graded base will hold its shape, drain cleanly after monsoon rain, and look sharp for 15 years or more.
We walk every client through product selection before we schedule a crew. Pile height, blade shape, color blend, and infill type all affect how the finished turf looks and performs — especially in direct Phoenix sun. We'll show you samples and make a recommendation based on your specific use case.
We stand behind every install with a workmanship guarantee. From HOA front yards to full backyard builds, Citiscapes has done it across the Valley.

Our backyard was nothing but dirt, weeds, and dog crap for years. I was so embarrassed by it. In fact, I tried to avoid going outside so I wouldn't have to look at it. I really wanted a Gazebo and a small shed, but we needed to get concrete slabs first. So I got some quotes for extending the patio and add room for a shed, and to put in a large 12x12 slab for my Gazebo. I was hesitant to reach out to Citiscapes because the job was so small and I was afraid they would be out of my price range. But their reviews were all great, which made me feel more comfortable about going with them over a smaller company. Joey totally understood my vision. He never made me feel like the job was "too small" and I was actually quite surprised that his quote was in line with what I had budgeted. He even priced out things that I wanted to get done in the future. I was so impressed with their work and Joey's professionalism, I reached out to them again for "phase 2" which involved more concrete, installing irrigation, outdoor tile, and a retaining wall for my plants. Again, it was right on budget! I now have the backyard of my dreams and plan to use Citiscapes again when we are ready to do the front yard. You can see the before and after photos below.
